Numerical assessment of the performance of different constitutive models used to predict liquefiable soil behavior

Liquefaction has caused severe damages to structures such as excessive settlements, tilting, lateral spreading etc., all over the world during many past earthquakes. Hence, efficient prediction of liquefiable soil behavior is crucial for liquefaction-induced hazard evaluation existing and design new in seismically active regions. In this study, a series nonlinear effective stress analyses are carried out using DeepSoil OpenSees opensource software with Modified Kondner–Zelasko (MKZ) Pressure Dependent Multi Yield02 (PDMY02) constitutive models evaluate their capabilities terms predicting behavior. The performance been evaluated by comparing results between numerical predictions centrifuge study from literature excess pore water pressures, acceleration-time histories, spectral accelerations, displacements maximum profile responses at specific depths. clearly illustrate that pressure reasonably close measurements, but accelerations slightly different. It also observed dissimilarities simulations more obvious respect ones.
